WP3. Climate Change vulnerability assessment framework and complex impact chains

SOCLIMPACT requires the implementation of a sophisticated modelling chain, articulating climate projections, Climate Change impact assessment, modelling of socio-economic impacts, and scenarios building. This also require a strong attention to consistency across WPs and a clear specification of desired outputs at each phase.
Thus, WP3 brings together the set of preparatory actions that are necessary for the effective implementation of the remaining WPs.
Preparatory actions should be used to ensure that the outputs and inputs of the work packages that are concerned with climate modelling (WP4) and socioeconomic modelling (WP5 and WP6) can be seamlessly assembled and thus achieve the objectives of the project. They should also be designed so as the overall modelling activities help designing policy scenarios in WP7.
The work in WP2 will articulate several approaches:

  • an approach per sector;
  • an approach per island;
  • an approach per work package.

It will require some meetings and workshops not only between partners, but also with other external contributors and organisations in order to validate indicators and datasets requirements. Statistics organisations will support the definition of input-output matrix.
