Participation of Doctor Yen E. Lam González in the 5th Conference of Climate, Tourism and Recreation (CCTR 2018)
Dr. Yen E. Lam González, researcher of the Soclimpact Project, participated on June 25, 26 and 27, 2018 in the 5th International Conference on Climate, Tourism and Recreation CCTR 2018, held in Umeå, Sweden.
This conference is held every three years and brings together a multidisciplinary group of researchers (climatologists, geographers, engineers, economists, etc.) renowned in the field of tourism and the study of the impact of climate change. Here we analyze the main needs of knowledge production in this field, the limitations shown by the studies from the methodological point of view, and the advances in the design of services and climate policies, adapted to very specific contexts and high vulnerability.
The researcher presented a paper entitled “Climate Comfort and Destination Loyalty in the context of Maritime Tourism”, in which she addressed the case study methodology at the island scale proposed by the Soclimpact Project, for a better understanding of the tourist impact that variability means climate in these regions, and the usefulness of designing climate services adapted to their conditions and potential.
