AREAM (Regional Agency for Energy and Environment of the Autonomous Region of Madeira) is a private non-profit association, recognised as public utility, having the mission to promote the innovation and cooperation in the energy and environment domains.
In the pursuit of its mission, AREAM has been supporting and providing advice to economic agents on energy and environmental matters, supporting the Regional Government in the formulation and execution of energy and environmental policies, promoting cooperation with other national and international institutions, and looking for a suitable dynamic of the Region in the European framework, through several projects, in the search for innovative, economical and socially interesting solutions.

NAME: JOSÉ FILIPE NUNES OLIVEIRA

José Filipe Nunes Oliveira is a Senior Expert and Head of the Administration Board of AREAM – Regional Agency for Energy and Environment of the Autonomous Region of Madeira since 2012. He holds a university degree in mechanical engineering – thermodynamics from the Higher Technical Institute of the University of Lisbon (IST-UL, Lisbon). Has experience in promotion, coordination and development of cooperation projects and planning in the fields of energy, environment, climate change, tourism, mobility, water and waste management.

CV RESUME:
Elizabeth Olival, is a Senior Expert of AREAM – Regional Agency for Energy and Environment of the Autonomous Region of Madeira. She holds a university degree in environmental engineering from the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the New University of Lisbon (FCT-UNL, Lisbon), and post degree in business management from the ISCTE, University Institute of Lisbon. She is a European Commission Expert (7th Framework Program and Horizon 2020), with experience in coordination and development of projects in the fields of environment, energy, water and waste management, climate change and biodiversity.

CV RESUME:
Hugo Vasconcelos, is a collaborator of AREAM – Regional Agency for Energy and Environment of the Autonomous Region o Madeira. He holds a master’s degree in environmental engineering from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP, Porto). He joined AREAM in September 2017 and during its collaboration he developed and implemented several activities in the scope of cooperation projects in the fields of climate change, energy efficiency, renewable energies, sustainable tourism and sustainable mobility.
